The Return of the Camel Coat

Tänä vuonna syksyn ja talven tulo tarkoitti samaa kuin kahtena edellisenäkin vuotena: aika kaivaa kamelitakki taas esiin! Olin jo melkein unohtanut, kuinka paljon mä kamelitakeista oikein tykkäänkään ja kuinka helppo päällysvaate se on. Kamelitakki onkin ollut päällä lämmittämässä melkeinpä joka päivä sen jälkeen kun kaivoin sen taas esiin. Pientä takki-addiktin vikaa mussa kyllä taitaa olla, sillä menin hakemaan takkia varastosta sillä ajatuksella että siellä on tämän kamelitakin lisäksi vain yksi toinen talvitakki. Mutta hupsista, sieltähän löytyikin kahden takin sijaan neljä ja sen jälkeen on vielä tullut hankittua yksi lisää takkikokoelmaa täydentämään. Uudesta tulokkaasta kuitenkin lisää myöhemmin ;)

This year the arrival of autumn and winter season meant the same thing as last year and the year before: it's time to get my camel coat out again! I had already almost forgotten how much I actually like camel coats and just how 'easy' piece of outerwear it is. I've been wearing my camel coat pretty much on a daily basis ever since getting it out again. I think I do have some traits of a little coat / jacket addict though, because I went to get this coat from the storage thinking 'oh yeah, there'll be the camel coat and then one other coat in there', but whoops, suddenly two coats in storage turned out to be four. And I've even purchased another one since then to add to my growing collection of jackets and coats. But more about the newcomer later ;)

Tällä kertaa klassikkotakki yhdistyi vuoden 2017 pariin ehkä suurimpaan trendiin: gingham-kuosiin ja baker boy -hattuun. Olisi varmaan pitänyt laittaa vielä ruutubleiseri väliin, niin sitten ainakin olisi ollut vuoden top 3 kuuminta trendiä yhdessä ja samassa asussa. Kauden trendeihin yhdistettynä kamelitakki onkin helppo päivittää aina kuhunkin sesonkiin sopivaksi ja luoda sille vähän uutta ilmettä, ja nimenomaan sen takia tää klassikkotakki tuleekin aina olemaan osa mun takkivaatekaappia.

This time I combined the classic coat with two of probably some of the biggest trends of 2017: gingham pattern and baker boy cap. I should've probably worn the check blazer too, as then I would've definitely been wearing the top 3 hottest trends of the year in one single outfit. When combined with seasonal trends the camel coat is easy to update to the current time and create a bit of a different look to it. And that versatility together with the classic and timeless look is exactly the reason why the camel coat will always be part of my coat wardrobe.
