Pursuit of Clearer Skin

Pitkästä aikaa ihonhoitojuttuja! Oon viime aikoina kärsinyt taas huonompaan kuntoon menneestä ihosta, sillä erilaiset stressitekijät näkyy mulla kyllä ihan saman tien ihon näppyisyytenä. Jonkun aikaa asian kanssa tuskasteltuani, päätin että nyt saa riittää ja asialle pitää tehdä jotain, ja niinpä marssin sopivasti Black Fridayna Bootsiin, jossa oli expert skincare kolme kahden hinnalla -tarjouksessa. Aiemmista finniongelmistani poiketen, mun yleensä rasvainen iho on tällä kertaa kuitenkin myös paikoittain kuivan tuntuinen, joten päädyin kysymään myyjältä apua sopivien tuotteiden löytämiseen ja myyjän suosituksesta kassalle päätyi kolme Eucerinin Dermo Purifyer -tuotetta, jotka on tarkoitettu epäpuhtaalle iholle puhdistaen nimenomaan tehokkaasti mutta ihoa kuivattamatta.

Let's talk about skincare! Lately my skin has gotten worse again, because my skin is the first thing that shows the signs of all kinds of different stress factors by popping out blemishes way more than I feel comfortable with. After having struggled with it for some time recently, I decided it was time to do something about it. And therefore I walked into Boots, conveniently on Black Friday when they had expert skincare on 3 for 2 offer. Differing from my previous struggles with blemishes, now my usually oily skin also feels dry, so I actually ended up asking for a member of staff to help me choose the right products. Eventually I walked out with three products from the Eucerin Dermo Purifyer line, which is targeted towards oily and blemish-prone skin as it purifies gently but effectively.

Mukaan lähti tosiaan kolme tuotetta: puhdistusaine, kosteusvoide ja seerumi. Dermo Purifyer -puhdistusainetta oon käyttänyt aamuin illoin, sillä tää puhdistaa epäpuhtauksien lisäksi meikit pois iholta. Ainakaan nyt noin viikon käytön jälkeen ei ole ilmennyt mitään pahaa sanottavaa, sillä lupauksiensa mukaan tää saippuaton ja tuoksuton puhdistusaine jättää ihon puhtaaksi ja raikkaaksi, eikä ihoa ärsytä tai kiristä käytön jälkeen.

Like mentioned before, I left Boots with three products in my bag: a cleanser, a moisturizer and a serum. I've been using the Dermo Purifyer cleanser both morning and night, as this also works as a make up remover. I've only been using this for about a week, but at least so far I don't have anything bad to say about this one as it does what it promises and leaves the skin clean and fresh without irritating it. 

Iltaisin puhdistusainetta seuraa Dermo Purifyer Active Concentrate -seerumi, joka lupaa kirkastaa ja tasoittaa ihoa. Vaikka seerumi toimisikin hyvin myös meikin alla, oon kuitenkin jättänyt seerumin käytön pelkkiin iltoihin. Osittain siksi, että myyjä varoitteli tän olevan se kaikkein tehokkain tuote, joka taistelee niitä epäpuhtauksia vastaan ja niinpä liiallien käyttö voi aiheuttaa lisää kuivumista jos iho on jo valmiiksi todella kuiva. Toinen syy iltakäytölle puolestaan on antaa seerumin tehokkuuden vaikuttaa nimenomaan pitkäkestoisesti yötä vasten, eikä sutia meikkiä samantien päälle. Toistaiseksi ainakaan en oo huomannut tän kuivattavan omaa ihoani liikaa, mutta täytyy varmaan testailla vähän pidempään ennen kuin voi varmaksi sanoa, vaikuttaako tää mitenkään mun ihon yleiseen kuivuuteen.

In the evening the cleanser is followed by Dermo Purifyer Active Concentrate serum, that promises to clarify the skin and improve its overall complexion. Although the serum could be just as well used in the morning, I've decided to only include it in my evening skincare routine, partly because the sales person warned that as this is the most effective product of the range, it can make the skin more dry if you're suffering from quite a dry skin to start with. The other reason is to let the serum work throughout the night and not put make up on top of it right away. At least so far I haven't noticed any excessive drying, but I'll probably have to use this for a little bit longer until I can say for sure whether this affects the general dryness of my skin or not. 

Kosteusvoide on sekin ollut käytössä aamuin illoin, sillä tää tekee ihosta ihanan mattapintaisen, ja melkein tuntuu ettei meikkivoiteen alle primeria oikeastaan edes tarvitse. Dermo Purifyer Hydrating Care -kosteusvoide kosteuttaa ihoa, mutta lupaa samalla taistella epäpuhtauksia vastaan ja tehdä ihosta terveemmän, tasaisemman ja puhtaamman näköisen. 

As for the moisturizer, it has also been used in the morning as well as in the evening, as this makes my skin feel really matte and lovely and it almost feels like I don't even need a primer underneath my foundation after using this. Dermo Purifyer Hydrating Care moisturizes the skin, but also promises to fight against blemishes and make the skin look more healthy, smooth and clear.

Eucerinin Dermo Purifyer -sarja on tosiaan ollut mulla käytössä vasta viikon verran, mutta pieniä parannuksia ihossa on jo havaittavissa, vaikka tuoteselosteet lupaavatkin tuloksia vasta neljän viikon kuluessa. Oikeaan suuntaan ollaan siis ainakin menossa! Testailut kuitenkin jatkuu ja jos kiinnostusta löytyy, niin voisin muutaman viikon päästä tehdä pienen päivityksen että onko näistä Eucerinin tuotteista oikeasti ollut apua mun epäpuhtauksiin ja rasvaisuuteen taipuvan, mutta tällä hetkellä paikoittain kuivan ihon hoitamisessa?

Onko siellä muita Eucerinin Dermo Purifyer -sarjaa kokeilleita? Mitä tuotteita te muut rasvaisen ja epäpuhtauksiin taipuvan ihon omaavat ylipäätään käytätte?

As mentioned before, I've only been using the Eucerin Dermo Purifyer range for about a week or so, but I can already see some improvements in my skin, even though the labels promise results within four weeks. So at least the direction is right! My experimenting with these products continues, and if you're interested I could do a little update in a few weeks to see if these Eucerin products have helped my oily and blemish-prone, but currently partly dry skin?
