My Go-To Evening Outfit: Jeans and a Nice Top

Terveisiä Suomesta! Tällä tosiaan ollaan taas, toistaiseksi määrittelemättömään syyskuun päivään asti kesäloman vietossa yliopistolta. Niin se vaan kolmas vuosikin hujahti ohi, ja enää on yksi vuosi jäljellä ennen kandia vastaavien papereiden saamista. Skotlannissa tosiaan suurin osa kanditutkinnoista kesää neljä vuotta eikä kolme kuten perinteisesti Suomessa tai Englannin puolella. Mutta nyt tosiaan koko pitkä kesä aikaa nauttia Suomesta parhaimmillaan!

Hello from Finland! Back here again to spend my summer holiday from uni, this time until an undefined day in September. Crazy to think that that was another year over and done with, three down and one more to go until I'll be graduating from my undergraduate programme. Something I still find a bit strange though is that why are most of the undergrad courses in Scotland four years long, whereas the standard in pretty much everywhere else I know is only three? But that's enough of uni talk, now I've got the whole long summer to enjoy Finland at its best!

Tämä asu kuvattiin ystäväni Anun kanssa ennen viime postauksessakin mainittuja drinkkejä keskustassa. Tämä on mulle hyvin tyypillinen iltamenojen, kuten juurikin drinkkien tai dinnerin, asu: ikuisena farkkutyttönä farkut jalassa, siisti yläosa, tyylikäs takki, korolliset nilkkurit, tällä kertaa kuvien ulkopuolelle jäänyt clutch, sekä jokin kiva asuste tuomassa sen viimeisen loppusilauksen. Mutta "farkut ja joku kiva paita" onkin se klassikko! Tämä second handina löytynyt silkkipaita näkyikin jo aiemmin tässä postauksessa, ja vaikka asun elementit on muuten aikalailla samat niin yleisilme näiden kahden lookin välillä on ihan erilainen. Kiitos klassisen tyylikkään trenssin, on tämä asu makuuni huomattavasti drinkkikelpoisempi kuin edellinen cargo-takin, silkkipaidan ja farkkujen yhdistelmä.

Mulla oli myös pitkästä pitkästä aikaa hiukset kiinni kodin ulkopuolella jossain muuallakin kuin joogasalissa, yleensä nimittäin tulee kuljettua paikasta toiseen hiukset avoimena tuulessa hulmuten. Hiusten ponnarilla pitäminen oli kuitenkin aika kivaa vaihtelua, ja kaikenlaisiin hiusklipseihin ja -asusteisiin tällä hetkellä ihastuneena päätin vielä laittaa helmikoristeisen soljen ponnarikampausta koristamaan. Seuraavaksi täytyykin kokeilla solkea matalan niskanutturan kanssa, näyttää nimittäin kaikkien näkemieni kuvien perusteella ihan mielettömän hyvältä!

We shot this outfit together with my friend Anu before heading off to those drinks in town that I mentioned in my previous post. This is a very typical nighttime look for me, and something I tend to go for whenever heading for drinks, dinner, etc. A pair of jeans because I'm a denim girl by heart, a nice smart top, a stylish coat, heeled boots, a clutch that was left outside of the photos this time, and some kind of an accessory to finish off the look nicely. But 'jeans and a nice top' is a classic, isn't it?! This second hand silk blouse was already featured earlier on the blog in this post, and although the elements in both of the outfits are pretty much the same, the overall look between the two really is quite different. Thanks to the trench coat, this look is much more drinks appropriate in my opinion in comparison to the previous one with the cargo jacket.

For the first time in ages I was also wearing my hair up on a ponytail outside of the house or a yoga studio, as I usually always have my hair all out sweeping in the wind. It was a nice change to tie it up however, and because I have absolutely fallen in love with all kinds of hair clips and accessories, of course I had to add a pretty pearl clip to my hair. Next time I'll have to try the low bun + hair clip combo, as it looks absolutely amazing in all the photos I've seen!

P. S. Postaustoiveita saa ehdottomasti laittaa taas tulemaan, nyt kun niitä on kesällä enemmän aikaa ja kenties helpompi toteuttaa!
