Rakastan löytää kivoja pieniä ja itsenäisiä brändejä, sillä jo pelkkä ajatuskin siitä että joku on lähtenyt vain toteuttamaan omaa unelmaa ja visiotaan inspiroi ja motivoi itseäkin. Erityisesti suomalaiset brändit on tietysti lähellä omaa sydäntä, vaikka aivan huikeita itsenäisiä brändejä löytyy toki ihan ympäri maailmaa, ja esimerkiksi Briteissäkin on monia tällaisia pieniä brändejä joita tykkään pitää silmällä. Alapuolelta löytyy kuitenkin kolme suomalaista muoti-/lifestylebrändiä, jotka on niin sanotusti mun "tutkassa" juuri nyt. I love finding small and independent brands, and even the thought that someone has gone and pursued their dream and vision is super inspiring and motivating for myself as well. Obviously it's especially Finnish brands like this that are close to my heart, even though there are some amazing small independent brands the world over. And there are e.g. quite a few British ones that I like to keep my eye on as well. However, in this post I'm sharing three independent Finnish fashion brands that are currently on my radar. RUMEUR Label
Rumeur-brändin ihania uikkareita ja muitakin täydellisesti kesään sopivia tuotteita kuten silkkimekkoja ja pellavashortseja oon katsellut jo pitkään. Ihan täydelliset loma-vibat! Vuonna 2017 perustettu Rumeur ottaa toiminnassaan myös eettisyyden hienosti huomioon. Brändin tuotteet valmistetaan paikallista käsityötä hyödyntäen Balilla, ja työntekijöille taataan esimerkiksi hyvä toimeentulo, palkallinen sairasloma ja vakuutus, ja työpäivät sijoittuvat arkipäiviin 9-17 välille. Lisäksi tuotteiden materiaaleina käytetään ekologisempia vaihtoehtoja kuten juurikin pellavaa, ja esimerkiksi brändin uimapuvut valmistetaan Econyl-kuidusta, jonka tuotannossa hyödynnetään muun muassa merien muovijätettä. Rumeurilla on juuri meneillään myös ihan mielettömät alet, ja osa tuotteista on jopa 70% alennuksessa. Itsekin päädyin vihdoin hankkimaan brändiltä jotakin omaankin kaappiin, nimittäin postauksen ensimmäisessäkin kuvassa näkyvän Halo-uikkarin upeassa salvianvihreässä värissä.

Rumeur's products are made in Bali and make use of the local craftsmanship there, and workers are paid more than the average wages, they are guaranteed paid sick leave and health insurance, and the workdays are Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Furthermore, Rumeur uses more sustainable and ecological materials, such as linen, and for example swimwear is made of Econyl, a garment that uses consumer waste such as plastic bottles, fishing nets and other marine waste as a resource. Rumeur currently has an amazing sale on with lots of products marked down even 70%. Encouraged by the sale, I finally got something from Rumeur into my wardrobe too, namely that stunning Halo one piece swimming suit in sage green colour, which you can see in the image at the top of this post.

Hálo from North inspiroituu Lapin arktisista maisemista, ja brändillä on ihan mielettömiä printtejä. Hálon valikoimaan kuuluu muun muassa upeita mekkoja, neuleita, takkeja ja muita vaatteita, sekä joitakin asusteita ja kodin tuotteitakin. Hálo käyttää eurooppalaisia materiaalitoimittajia sekä tehtaita, ja kaikki printit ovat brändin omaa käsialaa. Myös hálo on perustettu vuonna 2017, ja olen seurannut myös sen tarinaa ja menestystä oikeastaan ihan brändin alkuajoista lähtien. Brändin ytimessä on Lapin arktinen kauneus, ja brändin omin sanoin "hálo was born in the need of high quality, timeless yet unique clothing".Hálo from North draws inspiration from the arctic scenery of the Finnish Lapland, and the brand has some pretty amazing prints and patterns. Hálo's collection includes e.g. beautiful dresses, knitwear, coats and other clothing items, as well as some accessories and home items. All materials are sourced from Europe and produced in European factories, and all of the prints are designed by the brand themselves. Hálo was also established in 2017, and I've been following its journey and success pretty much from the start. At the core of the brand is Lapland's arctic beauty, and in the brand's own words: "hálo was born in the need of high quality, timeless yet unique clothing".

GAUHAR Helsinki
Vuonna 2012 perustettu Gauhar on mulle vähän uudempi tuttavuus, tosin tämä brändi on aina silloin tällöin tullut vastaan Instagramissa jo pidempään. Mutta vasta vähän aikaa sitten päädyin oikeasti itse selailemaan brändin nettisivuja ja ihastuin heti. Gauharin valikoimaan kuuluu muun muassa vaatteita, yöpukuja, asusteita ja kodintekstiileitä, jotka kaikki mukailee samaa eleganttia, hillittyä ja kaunista linjaa. Gauhar onkin pikemminkin lifestyle-brändi kuin suoranainen muotibrändi, sillä brändin tuotevalikoima on sen verran laaja. Gauharilla on liike Punavuoressa, tosin se on nyt koronavirus-tilanteen vuoksi suljettuna, mutta kunhan liike taas aukenee ja rajoituksia höllennetään niin sinne on ehdottomasti päästävä hypistelemään. Nettikauppa tosin toimii ihan normaaliin tapaan tänä poikkeusaikanakin.

But it was only recently when I eventually clicked myself over to the Gauhar website, and I instantly fell in love. Gauhar's product selection includes e.g. clothing items, pyjamas, accessories and home textiles, and they all represent the same kind of beautiful, minimalistic and elegant aesthetic. To be precise, Gauhar is more of a lifestyle brand rather than a pure fashion brand, since the brand's product assortment is that wide. Gauhar has a brick-and-mortar store in Helsinki, and once these restrictions and limitations are lifted, I'm definitely going to pay a visit to experience the brand in real life.
