Dare I say it...? Kesä on virallisesti täällä! Vihdoin! Nämä tällä viikolla hellineet aurinkoiset ja lämpimät päivät on saaneet hymyn korviin ja kesäfiiliksen kattoon. Kyllä tätä valoa ja lämpöä onkin taas odotettu ja kaivattu. Kesä ja aurinko tarkoittaa tietysti myös sitä, että on aika kaivaa aurinkolasit jälleen esiin. Oma aurinkolasikokoelmani koostuu neljästä erilaisesta parista, jotka olen jaotellut kolmeen eri kategoriaan. Näistä kolmesta kategoriasta koostuukin se jokaiselle sopiva täydellinen aurinkolasikokoelma, joka jättää liikkumatilaa ja vaihtoehtoja kategorioiden sisällä.
Dare I say it...? Summer is officially here! Finally! We've been blessed with some incredible sunny and warm days this week, which has put a smile on my face and lifted my summer mood through the roof. Oh how we've been longing for this time of the year. Summer and sunshine obviously means that it's time to make the most of the sunglasses collection again too. My own collection currently consists of four different pairs, which I have filed under three different categories. These three categories are the building blocks of the perfect sunglasses collection, and they provide leeway and choices within the categories themselves.
Kategoria 1: Klassinen musta Wayfarer
Ray-Banin mustat Wayfarer-aurinkolasit ovat klassikko jo monen vuosikymmenen takaa (1950-luku, James Dean ja Rebel Without a Cause -leffa, anyone?), mutta ne ovat edelleen ihan yhtä tyylikkäät kuin aina ennenkin. Wayfarer-malleja löytyy lukuisilta muiltakin brändeiltä aina ketjuliikkeistä designer-merkkeihin, ja eri koot takaavat sen että jokaisille kasvoille löytyy sopivat. Muistan kun itse hankin nämä omat Ray-Banin Wayfarerini ihkaensimmäisillä kesätyörahoillani ja olisin alunperin halunnut isomman mallin, mutta lopulta todettiin myyjän kanssa yhdessä että nämä pienemmät lasit oli omille kasvoilleni huomattavasti paremmat.Category 1: Classic black Wayfarer
Ray-Ban's Wayfarer sunglasses are a classic item from decades past (1950s, James Dean and Rebel Without a Cause, anyone?), but they still look just as good. Multiple brands and retailers from high street all the way up to designer have the wayfarer style in their selection, and different sizes ensure that there is a pair to suit every face shape and size. I remember when I got my Ray-Ban Wayfarers years ago with my very first summer job pay and initially wanted to get the bigger sized style, but ultimately both the sales assistant and myself came to the conclusion that this smaller frame was the right option for my face.

Kategoria 2: Pilotti
Toinen kategoria täydellisen aurinkolasikokoelman rakentamisessa on pilottimalliset lasit, jotka voi nämäkin lukea klassikoiden joukkoon. Pilottilaseissa on jotain ihanan kesäistä 70-luvun retrovibaa, mutta malli toimii kuitenkin vuodesta toiseen. Ja kuten Wayfarer-mallissakin, myös pilottilaseissa on valinnanvaraa niin brändien, budjettien kuin kokojenkin suhteen.
Category 2: Aviator
The second category in the building of the perfect collection of sunglasses is the aviator style, which also falls under the classics. The aviator, also called pilot, style sunglasses have those lovely, summery, 1970s retro vibes to them, however the style works from one year to another. And just like with the Wayfarer sunglasses, this style can also be found from various different brands catering to various different budgets, and for different size requirements.

Kategoria 3: Sekalaiset, hauskat, erilaiset, trendikkäät
Kolmanteen ja siten viimeiseen kategoriaan lukeutuukin sitten ne kaikki muut aurinkolasimallit ja -tyylit! Tämä on myös se kategoria, joka tarjoaa eniten liikkumatilaa ja vaihteluvaraa jokaisen henkilökohtaisen tyylin mukaan. Mulla tämän kategorian muodostaa kaksi paria pyöreitä aurinkolaseja, toiset pienemmät ruskeat ja toiset isommat mustat kunnon kärpäslasit. Tähän kategoriaan kuuluu kaikki vähän erikoisemmat ja leikittelevämmät aurinkolasit, jotka voi jollekin tarkoittaa esimerkiksi koristeellisia sankoja ja jollekin toiselle supersöpöjä sydänlaseja.
Category 3: Miscellaneous and trendy
The third and therefore final category pretty much includes all the other styles and types of sunglasses! This is also the category that provides the most leeway and options based on each individual's personal style. For me this category consists of two pairs of round sunglasses, one smaller brown pair and another pair of bigger black ones. All those more playful and trendier sunglasses fall under this category, which might mean for example a more decorative frames for one person and a pair of super cute heart shaped sunglasses for someone else.
