Ah, valkoiset paidat. Onko mitään klassisempaa, tyylikkäämpää, ajattomampaa tai monikäyttöisempää? Tuskinpa vain. Valkoinen kauluspaita on lähestulkoon jokaisen vaatekaapin peruspilari ja monen kapselivaatekaappiinkin luottavan go-to yläosa. Ja syystäkin, valkoinen kauluspaita nimittäin on oikein kelpo valinta olipa kyseessä sitten päivä toimistolla, kahvitreffit ystävän kanssa, deitti-ilta ravintolassa tai jopa ihan vain rentoilupäivä kotona.
Ahh, white shirts. Is there anything more classic, chic, timeless and multifunctional? I bet not. A white shirt is pretty much a staple piece in any wardrobe and a go-to also for those who swear by the name of a capsule wardrobe. And for a good reason, because a white shirt is a good choice whether you're dressing up for the day at the office, a coffee date with a friend, a date night and a dinner out, or even just a chilled day spent lounging at home.

Rento ja ylisuuri, tai skarppi ja tyköistuva valkoinen paita
Kuten meitä pukeutujia, niin myös valkoisia paitoja on kuitenkin erilaisia. On skarppeja, rentoja, tyköistuvia, ylisuuria, puuvillaisia, silkkisiä... Ja sitten on tällaisia ihania ribbattuja ja kiiltäväpintaisia yksillöitä, jotka näyttävät ehkä vähän yöpaidalta ja mukavuutensa puolesta muuten myös tuntuvat siltä. Tämä paita on vilahtanut blogissa jo aikaisemminkin tässä postauksessa, jossa puin sen yhdessä paidan kanssa samaa ribbattua ja kiiltäväpintaista materiaalia olevien housujen kassa jolloin yhdistelmästä tuli ihanan mukava yhtenäinen setti.
Setin osat toimivat kuitenkin täydellisesti myös erikseen. Housuja on tullut käytettyä erilaisten yläosien kanssa, ja kuten huomaatte niin paita sopii täydellisesti myös kaapista jo valmiiksi löytyvien beigejen puvunhousujen pariksi. Olen käyttänyt tätä rentoa valkoista ribbipaitaa myös leggingsien ja pyöräilyshortsien kanssa, ja paita tulee varmasti vielä yhdistymään siihen kaikkien aikojen klassisimpaan lookiin yhdessä farkkujen kanssa. Ja juuri tässä onkin valkoisten paitojen ihanuus, ja syy sille miksi niitä on omaankin vaatekaappiini tullut hankittua useampi. Ne yksinkertaisesti sopivat niin moneen asuun, tilanteeseen ja fiilikseen, ja stailausvaihtoehtojen suhteen vain taivas on rajana.
Casual and oversized, or smart and form-fitting white shirt
There are lots of different white shirts out there, just like there are us people who need to get dressed. There are smart shirts, casual shirts, form-fitting, oversized, cotton material, silk... And then there are these kind of lovely ribbed white shirts that have a little bit of sheen to them, and which may look a little bit like a pyjama top. And truth be told, feel a little bit like a pyjama top too as they're so comfortable. You might have already seen the shirt in this previous post, where I paired it together with the trousers that are the same kind of ribbed and sheeny material to create a lovely co-ordinated set.
However, the pieces work really well separately. I've worn the trousers with different tops, and as you can see the shirt goes perfectly with a pair of beige suit trousers that I already had in my closet. I've worn this relaxed white ribbed shirt also with leggings and biker shorts, and will surely style it with a pair of jeans for yet another take on the jeans and a white shirt look that's probably the most classic outfit of all times. And that's exactly where the greatness of white shirts lays, and the reason why I've acquired multiple different ones into my wardrobe. They just simply can be worn with so many different outfits, for different situations and moods/feelings, and when it comes to styling options only the sky is the limit.
