Sain vähän aikaa sitten Instagramissani DM-viestin, jossa kysyttiin mistä oikein hankin farkkuni. Kuten olen moneen kertaan todennut, niin mä olen farkkutyttö henkeen ja vereen ja farkut on jalassa useana päivänä viikossa, joskus jopa joka päivä. Mä en ole mitenkään erityisen brändiuskollinen farkkujen suhteen, vaan tykkään kokeilla ja löytää eri brändejä ja eri malleja. Tässä postauksessa kuitenkin jakoon ne brändit, joiden farkkuja on löytynyt kaapista kaikkein pisimpään ja/tai joiden farkut vedän tällä hetkellä jalkaan kaikkein useimmin. Toivottavasti näistä vinkeistä on teille apua, jos farkkukaappi on syyspäivityksen tarpeessa.
A little while ago I got an Instagram DM asking me where I get my jeans from. As I've said many times before, I'm definitely a denim girl through and through, and wear a pair of jeans multiple times a week, often even every day of the week. I'm not particularity brand loyal when it comes to jeans, but like to try and experiment with different ones and with different fits too. But in this post I'm sharing the brands whose jeans I've had in my wardrobe for the longest and/or whose jeans I pull on the most often these days. I hope you'll find this denim guide helpful if you're in the need of new jeans into your autumn wardrobe.

H&M
H&M:n farkkuja mulla on ollut kaapissa varmaan aina. Heillä on mun mielestä hyvin valikoimaa eri malleista ja farkkumallistossa on hyvä balanssi trendikkäämpien farkkujen ja klassisten mallien välillä. Esimerkiksi tässä postauksessa näkyvät H&M:n valkoiset rennot farkut on olleet mulla jo useamman vuoden ja ovat edelleen ahkerasti käytössä.
I think I've pretty much always had a pair of H&M jeans in my wardrobe. They've got a good selection of different fits and the collection is well balanced between trendier jeans and the more classic pairs. I've had the white casual mom jeans you can see for example in this post for multiple years now and I still wear them frequently.
Gina Tricot
Myös Gina Tricotin farkut ovat usein jalassa, ja tässä postauksessa näkyy mun farkkupari in action. Muistan kuinka teininä Ginan farkut oli se juttu, sitten pidin varmaan kymmenen vuoden tauon ja viime keväänä bongasin alennusmyynneistä tuon parin joka täytti loistavasti rentojen vaaleiden farkkujen menevän kolon farkkuvalikoimassani. Mun vinkki onkin, että silmäilkää Ginan farkut nimenomaan alejen aikaan, sieltä voi nimittäin tehdä super hyviä löytöjä. Esimerkiksi tämän oman parini kotiutin 70% alennuksella.
My Gina Tricot jeans are also a pair I wear often, and you can see them in action for example in this blogpost. I remember how as a teenager Gina Tricot jeans were the thing, then I had maybe a 10-year break and last spring I spotted a pair to fill the hole of casual light blue jeans in my denim wardrobe from Gina Tricot's sale section. My top tip is to look precisely at the sale section with Gina Tricot jeans, as you can truly make a great find on there. For example my pair was reduced by 70%.
NA-KD
NA-KD:in farkkuihin tutustuin Instagramissani olleen yhteistyön myötä vasta hiljattain, mutta farkut jäivät kyllä samantien viikoittaiseen käyttöön. Brändin farkkuja oli tullut mulle somessa vastaan useaan kertaan ja monet olivat niitä kehuneet, joten oli kiva päästä itsekin testaamaan. Ja tosiaan, voin itsekin näillä kokemuksilla liputtaa NA-KD:in farkkujen puolesta. Heillä on myös todella kattava valikoima eri malleja, värejä ja tyylejä aina trendifarkuista klassikoihin. Valikoimasta löytyy housuja myös perinteisimmiltä farkkumerkeiltä kuten Calvin Klein ja Levi's.
NA-KD denim is a newer addition to my wardrobe. I got a pair for an Instagram campaign I did with NA-KD earlier this summer, but the jeans instantly became one of my favourite pairs and I've used them on a weekly basis ever since. I had spotted the brand's jeans on social media a number of times and heard good things about them, so I was very excited to try them myself. And yes, with the experience I've got now I can also stand behind the positive words. They've also got a wide variety of different fits, colours and styles ranging from the trendier pairs of jeans to the more classic ones. Alongside their own brand jeans, NA-KD also sells jeans from more traditional denim brands such as Calvin Klein and Levi's.
ASOS
Asoksen farkut oli monta vuotta mun go-to, ja mulla oli brändin omasta Ridley-pillifarkkumallista samat farkut sekä mustana että sinisenä ja käytin niitä melkeinpä päivittäin. Ridleyt olen laittanut jo eteenpäin, mutta Farleigh-mutsifarkut löytyy kaapista edelleen. En tarkalleen enää muista, kuinka monta vuotta farkut on olleet mun kaapissa (ehkä neljä? viisi?), ja tosiaan edelleen aktiivisessa käytössä. Muun muassa tässä postauksessa näette, miltä farkut näyttävät käytössä. Asoksella on myös todella kattava valikoima ja esimerkiksi pitkät ja lyhyet mallistot erikseen.
Asos jeans were my go-to for many many years, and I had the Ridley skinny jeans both in black and in blue, and used to wear them pretty much every single day. I've already recycled both of the Ridleys forward, but I still have the Farleigh ones. I can't remember exactly how many years I've had them in my wardrobe (maybe four? five?), and I still actively wear them. You can see the jeans styled into an outfit for example in this post. Asos also has a great selection when it comes to denim, and they also have separate tall and petite ranges.
GAP
GAP on yksi erityisesti farkkuihin erikoistuneista brändeistä, ja vaikka mulla ei tällä hetkellä GAPin farkkuja kaapissa olekaan, niin olen kuitenkin tykännyt hurjasti brändin farkuista. GAP luottaa ehkä enemmän klassikoihin, eikä mallistoa täydennetä kaikilla mahdollisilla uusilla trendiväreillä ja kuoseilla, mutta toisaalta kun valikoimaa rajaa niin se on helpompi tehdä todella hyvin. GAP:illa on myös todella hyvä palvelu oikean koon löytämisen suhteen ja liikkeissä tarjotaan myös mm. lahkeiden lyhennys jos se on tarpeen. GAPilla ei valitettavasti ole liikkeitä Suomessa, mutta jos ja kun tämä maailma tästä taas aukenee niin suosittelen ehdottomasti pistäytymään GAPin myymälässä jos sellainen tulee vastaan.
GAP is maybe one of the more traditional denim brands, and although I don't own a pair of GAP jeans just now, I've really liked them throughout the years. GAP relies more on the classic fits and styles, and they don't take every denim trend into their selection. But then again, it's easier to get things right when you narrow down your focus. GAP also has great denim service when it comes to e.g. finding your size and you can also get the legs shortened in stores.
Topshop
Topshopin farkut on ainakin briteissä melkeinpä ikonisia, enkä rehellisesti sanottuna tunne yhtäkään brittinaista jolla ei olisi missään elämänsä vaiheessa ollut ainakin yksi pari Topshopin farkkuja kaapissa. Topshopilla on tietty pysyvä vakiovalikoima, mutta he tuovat myös uusia sesonkikohtaisia trendejä farkkumallistoon. Myös Topshopin farkuista löytyy omat mallistot pidemmille ja lyhyemmille jaloille. Omat Topshop-farkkuni ovat cropatut ja lahkeesta revityt, ja ne näkyvät esimeriksi tässä kevään postauksessa.
Topshop denim is pretty much iconic by now, and I honestly don't know a single British woman who has never in their life owned a pair of Topshop jeans. Topshop has their iconic styles that they carry on from one season to another, but they also introduce trendier styles of the season into their denim collections. They've also got separate tall and petite ranges. My Topshop jeans are cropped and have a frayed hem, and you can spot them e.g. in this blogpost from last spring.
Zara
Ehkä hieman yllättäenkin, Zaralla on oikeasti hyviä farkkuja! Mulla oli pitkään kaapissa parit eri farkut Zarasta ja molempia käytin todella paljon, kunnes kyllästyin toisen malliin ja toiset alkoivat olemaan polvesta jo sen verran rikki etteivät farkut olleet enää todellakaan cool vaan yksinkertaisesti vain loppuun kulutetun näköiset.
Maybe a bit surprising, but Zara actually has some good denim! I used to have a couple of pairs from them for a good few years and wore them a lot, but then I eventually got bored with the style of the other pair and the other became so ripped on the knee that they were definitely not cool anymore but just simply looked worn out.
