My Favourite Sportswear Brands

Rakastan hyviä ja kivannäköisiä urheiluvaatteita, ja nykyään treenivaatteita tulee käytettyä paljon myös ihan arjessa. Erityisesti leggingsit on lähellä sydäntä ja niissä vietän aikaa niin kotona, jooga- ja pilatessalissa kuin töissäkin. Tällainen kuvien mukainen leggingsit ja bleiseri -look on ihan yksi mun suosikkeja, koska se on super mukava päällä mutta näyttää silti vähän skarpimmalta ja huolitellulta. Treenivaatteiden suhteen mulla on muutama suosikkibrändi, joiden vaatteita käytän eniten juuri sen takia että ne näyttävät kivoilta ja toimivat niin treenissä kuin vapaa-ajallakin.

I love good and nice looking sportswear, and I also belong to that group of people who wear workout clothing outside of working out. Especially leggings are close to my heart and I spend a lot of time wearing a pair of leggings whether that's at home, at a yoga or pilates studio or at work. This kind of blazer and leggings look that's featured here in these images is actually one of my favourite outfits, as it is super comfortable to wear but still looks a bit smarter and put together. When it comes to sportswear, I've got a few favourite brands whose clothing I wear the most often exactly for the reason that they look cute but function well when working out as well as in everyday life.

Lululemon

Mulla on ollut Lululemonin Align II leggingsit käytössä vuosia, ja ne on heittämällä mun suosikkileggingsit ikinä! Materiaali on super pehmeää ja tuntuu ihanalta päällä, mutta niistä ei kuitenkaan näy ollenkaan läpi. Align II -leggingseissä on myös ihanan leveä vyötäröresori, eli ne ei painaudu ihoon ja purista vatsaa inhottavasti. Resorissa on myös pieni tasku leggingsien sisäpuolella, minne saa super kätevästi sujautettua esimerkiksi avaimen lenkin ajaksi. Leggingsit on myös pysyneet siisteinä ja hyväkuntoisina, vaikka olen pessyt ne ties kuinka monta kertaa.

I've had my Lululemon Align II yoga pants for years, and they are hands down my favourite pair of leggings ever! The material is super soft and feels lovely against the skin, but they are not see through at all. Align II leggings also have a lovely wide cuff at the waist, so they do not press uncomfortably against your stomach. The cuff also has a tiny little pocket on the inside of the leggings, which is a handy place to store e.g. your keys during a jog. The leggings have also maintained their fit even though I've washed them many a time.

Sweaty Betty

Sweaty Bettyyn tutustuin Glasgow-vuosien aikana ja ihastuin sekä brändin tuotteisiin että sen ideologiaan. Sweaty Bettyllä on hyvännäköisiä ja -laatuisia treenivaatteita ja -asusteita moniin eri lajeihin aina uikkareista lasketteluhousuihin. Brändin keskiössä on vahvasti myös naisten inspiroiminen ja tietynlainen voimaannuttaminen, sekä se kuuluisa tasapaino. Itsestään huolehtiva nainen voi juoda sekä skumppaa että vihermehuja. Ja mä olen ihan samaa mieltä!

I was introduced to Sweaty Betty during my Glasgow years and I totally fell in love with the brand's items and ideology. Sweaty Betty has really cute and good quality workout clothes and accessories for different kinds of sports, all the way from swimwear to skiing. Female empowerment and inspiration are at the core of the brand, as well as that balance that we're all certainly heard of. According to Sweaty Betty, a woman who takes care of herself can drink both champagne and green juices. And I certainly second that!

H&M

H&M:n urheiluvaatteisiin olen luottanut vuosikaudet, ja mulla on muun muassa yhdet H&M:n urheilurintsikat jotka ovat niin vanhat etten edes kehtaa myöntää. Mutta edelleen siis käytössä ja hyvässä kunnossa! H&M:n urheiluvaatteissa on hyvä hinta-laatusuhde, ja ne ovat aina myös todella kivannäköisiä.

I've relied on H&M activewear for years. I actually have an H&M sports bra that's so old that I don't even dare to tell you exactly how old. But it's still in use and looking good! H&M sportswear is good value for money, and the pieces also look really nice.

I Can I Will

Moni on varmasti törmännyt somessa I Can I Will (tai lyhyemmin ICIW) treenivaatteisiin, sillä he tekevät todella aktiivisesti ja paljon vaikuttajamarkkinointia. Itsekin tutustuin brändiin noin puolitoista vuotta sitten nimenomaan Instagramissani olleen yhteistyön myötä, mutta brändin leggingsit ja urheilurintsikat ovat jääneet aktiiviseen käyttöön myös yhteistyön jälkeen. Leggingsit ovat sopivan tiukkoja ja niissäkin on ihanan leveä vyötäröresori ja urheilurintsikat ovat mukavat päällä ja pysyvät hyvin paikallaan. Ja vaikka ICIW-treenivaatteitakin olen pessyt ahkerasti, niin ne eivät edelleenkään näytä minkäänlaisia kulumisen merkkejä.

I'm sure many have come across I Can I Will (or ICIW to make it shorter) sportswear on social media, as they're one of the brands who have a very strong focus on influencer marketing and do it by the masses. Personally I also got to know and fell in love with the brand a bit over a year ago through a collaboration I did with them on my Instagram. However, the ICIW leggings and sports bras have remained in use ever since. The leggings have a tight fit which I like, and they also have that nice wide cuff at the waist. And as for the sports bras, they're comfortable to wear and stay well in place. I've washed my ICIW items many a time as well, but they still don't show any signs of wearing out.

Aim'n

Aim'n on toinen niin sanottu somebrändi, johon moni on varmasti myöskin törmännyt Instagramin feediä selatessa. Myönnän että itse kiinnostuin brändistä ensisijaisesti treenivaatteiden ulkonäön vuoksi, mutta nyt kun tilaamani urheilutoppi ja collegehousut ovat saaneet käyttökertoja niin voin todeta että brändin tuotteita käyttää mielellään muutenkin kuin vain ulkonäön takia.

Aim'n is another social media brand so to speak, and I'm sure many of you have come across them when scrolling your Instagram feeds. I do admit that personally I got interested in the brand because their clothing just looked so cute, but now that I've been actually using the sports bra and sweatpants I ordered I can say that there's more to them than just good looks.

Swedish Stockings

Tiesittekö, että sukkahousujen ja sukkien lisäksi ruotsalainen Swedish Stockings valmistaa myös leggingsejä ja biker-shortseja? Itse en tiennyt ennen kuin brändi otti minuun keväällä yhteyttä ja halusi antaa muutamat tuotteet PR-lahjana. Päädyin tosiaan testaamaan hyväksi todettujen sukkisten lisäksi myös leggingsejä sekä pyöräilyshortseja ja ihastuin molempiin. Sekä leggingsit että bikerit ovat olleet käytössä niin arjessa kuin treenatessakin, ja varsinkin viime kesänä bikerit oli jalassa melkein 24/7.

Did you know that alongside tights and socks Swedish Stockings also does leggings and biker shorts? I did not know that before the brand got in touch with me last spring and wanted to gift me a few items as pr samples. Alongside those tights that I knew would be good, I also ended up ordering a pair of leggings and biker shorts and I'm definitely a fan. I've been wearing both the leggings and the biker shorts a lot when working out but also just in the everyday life, and wore especially the shorts pretty much on a 24/7 basis last summer.
