What 2021 taught me?

Huhhuh, melkoinen vuosi taas pikku hiljaa takana päin! Samaan aikaan tuntuu, että kuluneena vuotena ei tapahtunut juuri mitään, vaikka oikeasti viimeisen 12 kuukauden aikana tapahtui vaikka mitä. Kuten jokaiseen vuoteen, tähänkin mahtui niin hyviä kuin huonojakin hetkiä. Ja kuten jokainen vuosi tähänkin asti, myös 2021 opetti paljon. Tässä postauksessa muutamia opetuksia, joita 2021 tarjoili minulle. Ja nyt voikin sitten pikku hiljaa suunnata innolla, sekä avoimin ja odottavaisin mielin kohti vuotta 2022! 

Phew, yet another quite a year almost behind us! It feels like not much happened during the past year, even though the past 12 months were actually quite eventful. And just like every year thus far, this year also came with its uphills and downhills. And like every year, 2021 was also full of lessons learned. In this post you can read about some lessons 2021 served me. And now it's time to slowly turn my head towards 2022, which I'm welcoming with excitement and an open mind. 

Mitä vuosi 2021 opetti?

- Aina ei tarvitse ajatella "bigger, better, faster, stronger". On ok nauttia ja olla tyytyväinen myös siihen tilanteeseen mikä just nyt on. Ja se tekee itse asiassa vaan hyvää, varsinkin jos on vähän liian pitkään menty liian kovalla liekillä eteenpäin.

- Vaikka välillä tulee sitä itseään niskaan, niin elämä yllättää usein myös positiivisesti. Sadepilvilläkin on hopeareunus, ja vaikka huonossa hetkessä sitä on vaikeaa uskoa, niin usein jotakin parempaa ihan oikeasti on nurkan takana.

What 2021 taught me?

- You don't always have to think 'bigger, better, faster, stronger'. It's ok to enjoy and be happy with what you have at that point in time and in that situation that you're currently in. And it actually only does good, especially if you've been burning your candle from both ends for a little too long. 

- Although sometimes s*it hits the fan, life has a habit of surprising you positively too. Even the dark clouds have a silver lining to them, and even though in the bad situation it is hard to believe so, often there really is something better coming your way.

- Oikeasti kodilta tuntuva koti parantaa elämänlaatua ja fiilistä paljon enemmän kuin olisi ehkä osannut kuvitellakaan. 

- Kaikkein tärkeimmät ihmiset pysyy rinnalla aina, vaikka menisikin pitkä aika ettei näe, soita tai viestittele.

- Läheisiltä saatu tuki ja tsemppi on korvaamatonta. 

- A home that actually feels like home improves the quality of your life and makes you feel better than you ever would've thought. 

- The most important people will always be there for you, even if you go a long time without seeing or staying in touch with one another. 

- The support and encouragement you get from your nearest and dearest can sometimes be absolutely irreplaceable. 

- Omat tarpeet, ajatukset ja unelmat muuttuu ja elää, ja se on enemmän kuin ok ja sallittua. 

- Usein sillä miten jotakin sanoo tai kuinka jonkin tilanteen hoitaa, saattaa olla jopa suurempi merkitys kuin sillä mitä sanoo.

- Onnellisuus kumpuaa jostakin ihan muusta kuin työstä. Työ voi tuoda lisää iloa ja onnea elämään, mutta loppujen lopuksi se on ihan muut asiat kuin työ, menestyminen ja ura jotka oikeasti tekevät onnelliseksi.

- Your needs, thoughts and dreams change, and that is more than okay. 

- Often how you say something or handle a situation, has a much bigger impact than what you actually say.

- Happiness derives from something different than work. Of course, work can add happiness and joy into your life, but ultimately it's totally different things than work, success and career that really are at the root of happiness.
